Lyle High School Honored for the Second Year in a Row
For the second year in a row Lyle High School is listed as a bronze award winner in the "Best High Schools Search" for 2009 by US News and World Report. More than 21,000 public high schools were evaluated to find the very best across the country. The top 1925 schools were placed into gold, silver or bronze medal categories. Out of 591 high schools in Washington State 46 schools were selected as the best, 1 earned gold, 15 silver and 30 bronze. Congratulations to all of the staff and students for this tremendous honor!
The 2009 U.S. News & World Report America's Best High Schools methodology, developed by School Evaluation Services, a K-12 education data research business run by Standard & Poor's, is based on the key principles that a great high school must serve all its students well, not just those who are bound for college, and that it must be able to produce measurable academic outcomes that show the school is successfully educating its student body across a range of performance indicators.
